This is a reproduction of a chalk pastel painting done by Sophie Theroux. The view is from the intersections of Main Street and Center Street in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Sophie Theroux is an "en plein air" painter in Western Massachusetts. She works in oils and pastels and most of her paintings feature the Pioneer Valley. "I grew up in the woods in Leeds gallivanting around the mountains and swimming in the Mill River. It was so awe-inspiring and I remember being so captivated by it. I was drawn to paint it so that I could have some way to respond to how beautiful it looked."
