--About the Original Painting and the View--
The original painting was done in oil on stretched canvas. The view is of the lovely Connecticut River from the West Street Dike in Hadley, Massachusetts on the trail at the Alexandra Dawson Conservation Area.

Sophie Theroux is an "en plein air" painter in Western Massachusetts. She works in oils and most of her paintings feature the Pioneer Valley. "I grew up in the woods in Leeds gallivanting around the mountains and swimming in the Mill River. It was so awe-inspiring and I remember being so captivated by it. I was drawn to paint it so that I could have some way to respond to how beautiful it looked."
